The Phillip Masters Approach

The objectives of the Phillip Masters approach are very straightforward, and deal with the complete requirements of pension fund management, general investments, and retirement planning.

Pension & Investment Management

One of the most important investment developments in recent years is the ability to have an active role in developing your existing fund. Transferring your pension policies to an integrated portfolio management system will give you:

• On-line access to all your investments, showing current values and performance

• The ability to switch between leading funds, simply and cheaply

• More choice in how and where to invest

Our portfolio management system will also allow you to control PEPs, ISAs and general investments, including shares – giving a combined view of all your investments.

As member of our Wealth Improvement Programme™, you will benefit from a regular review of your portfolio, with investment recommendations based on your objectives.

Retirement Planning

In addition to traditional retirement annuities, it is possible to retain control of your pension funds in retirement.

If appropriate, we will assist you in choosing the annuity that is most appropriate for your requirements, taking in to account factors such as provision for a spouse, guaranteed minimum period, flat rate annuity and escalating rate annuity.

However, many people would prefer to have the flexibility of choosing from a number of options, including:

• Using a proportion of the fund to secure an annuity

• Taking an income from the balance of the fund

• Defer pension if still receiving an income

• Taking a reduced pension to supplement a reduced salary in semi-retirement

• Keeping funds in their estate for the benefit of other family members

All these options are subject to what suits your circumstances at the time of reaching retirement age.
